I want to welcome you to our Walton County EMS website. My name is Ronnie Almand, and I am the Director of the Walton County Emergency Medical Services. We hope that you find this page informative and useful to your purposes. Our personnel are dedicated in providing the highest quality of pre-hospital care to our patients.

About Walton County EMS
We provide an emergency response service by way of the 911 system.
We respond to and treat:
- Cardiac related illnesses
- Emergencies with life threatening illness or injury for all ages
- Medical emergencies
- Trauma related emergencies
We administer emergency care by way of:
- Basic Life Support: The provision of basic life support services in the context of an emergency response.
- Advanced life Support: In addition to Basic Life Support an Advanced life support assessments is performed by an advanced life support crew.
Purpose
The Purpose of the Ambulance Service is to provide the citizens of Walton County emergency medical care. This service works to prevent and reduce injury, as well as mortality. The service is committed to caring for the sick and injured, regardless of race, social-economic income or age.
Description
Men and women who have been certified by the Department of Public Health, either as EMT - Is, AEMTs or Paramedics staff the service. Our goal is to staff each ambulance with one EMT - I and one Paramedic. Much of the time this goal is exceeded with two Paramedics on each ambulance.
Our service is under the authority of Walton County BOC.
Staffing & Fleet
Walton County Emergency Medical Service staffs six ambulances twenty-four hours per day, which are placed in strategic areas of the county.
The service has two reserve ambulance for back up. The six ambulances are currently stationed at fire departments in:
- Jacks Creek
- Loganville
- Monroe
- Social Circle
- Walker Park
- Youth
Scope of Service
The focus of an Emergency Medical Service is to care for patients who are sick or injured, regardless of age, and to meet the needs of the patient by utilizing the current standards of training required in certification in ACLS, BCLS, PALS, PHTLS, and Rescue Specialist.
Many of our EMS personnel are certified instructors of:

- BLS
- PHTLS
- AMLS
- PALS
- EMR
- AEMT
