Dear Fellow Citizens,
Walton County is a great place to live and work. It is truly an honor to serve the citizens as the Chairman. The Board of Commissioners and I work hard to keep taxes low in the County, as well as to provide the services that are needed for our residents. I would like to thank the Constitutional Officers and Department Heads for continuing to deliver outstanding services while conservatively managing their budgets.
2019 was a good year for Walton County. The housing growth in our community is continuing to rise, and the economic, commercial, and retail outlook is trending upward as well. Quality businesses and companies are looking to relocate here, and our established businesses are beginning to thrive once again.
Our County has several exciting events on the horizon for the coming year. We will be constructing a Splash Pad Water Park in Between along with a new Fire Station at Hard Labor Creek Reservoir. These projects are funded by SPLOST and should be completed next year. We will also start construction of a Community Center/ Gym in Social Circle also funded by SPLOST. The cities and county along with the state are working to improve roads and we are using this partnership to improve the areas that are heavily overcrowded and in need of more lanes or better signals. We are actively trying to Move Walton with these road improvements.
I look forward to 2020 and what it will bring to Walton County. I believe that we will continue to see positive and quality growth. Working alongside my fellow Commissioners, City Councils, and other community leaders, I am confident Walton County will continue to be a great place for families and businesses
